How OzHealth began

A shared idea became OzHealth Pharma

In 2010, our family came together around a simple idea: use our combined knowledge of community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and health product development to help people make more informed choices about health and wellbeing products.

That idea became OzHealth Pharma. From the beginning, Magdy, George and Mariam have worked together to select and curate the range. We look closely at the available clinical evidence, the quality of the product, what it is intended to do and whether it has a useful role in everyday life.

More than a decade later, the same purpose still guides us: choose carefully, stay grounded in pharmacy knowledge and help people find products with greater confidence.

Magdy Iskander

Pharmacist & Founder

Over 40 years in pharmacy

Magdy founded OzHealth Pharma in 2010, bringing decades of pharmacy and health product experience to the company’s product selection.

More about Magdy

Magdy graduated from Cairo University before completing transition studies at the University of Sydney. His career experience includes work with MSD, Pfizer and Sigma.

He has also contributed to pharmacy education as a volunteer tutor and marker for postgraduate pharmacy training at the University of Sydney, and was a member of the University of Sydney Pharmacy Foundation.

Over 15 years in pharmacy

George became involved with OzHealth Pharma while studying pharmacy and has worked across the company’s product launches and development.

A University of Sydney graduate, George has worked in community pharmacy and health product development.

His experience combines an understanding of the questions people ask in everyday pharmacy practice with the work involved in bringing carefully selected products to market.

Mariam brings experience from both community and hospital pharmacy to the way OzHealth considers products and the people who use them.

A University of Sydney graduate, Mariam has built her career across both community and hospital pharmacy settings, including hospital pharmacy at Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick.

Her experience spans the everyday needs seen in a local pharmacy and the care provided in a hospital environment.

What guides our product selection

We ask practical questions before a product earns a place in the OzHealth range. Today, our pharmacist-curated range spans arthritis and pain relief, foot and nail care, migraine and headache support, weight management, vitamins and supplements, and recovery and rehabilitation.
